Louisiana State Route 39
Louisiana State Route 39 (LA 39) was one of the 98 original state highways that were established in 1924. It ran in a south to north direction for , spanning from Leesville to an intersection with LA 6. It was designated in the post-1955 system as Louisiana Highway 117.

"Beginning at Leesville, through Kurthwood, Keatchie, Bellwood, Provencal, to Hagenwood." - 1924 Louisiana Legislative Route Description
From the south, LA 39 began at an intersection with LA 42, where LA 42 turned towards Shreveport, while LA 39 turned towards Natchitoches. LA 39 entered the hills of the Kisatchie National Forest, crossing paths with LA 75 in the town of Provencal. It then ended at an intersection with LA 6.
